Thursday, October 9th, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
University of Colorado, Denver, Lawrence Street Center
1380 Lawrence ST, 2nd Floor, Terrace Room
Join the Denver League of Women Voters, University of Colorado Denver, and Represent.US as they host the next Chairwoman of the Federal Elections Commission (FEC). This is an important and unique public opportunity to encourage FEC action on election reform by speaking up to support our democratic process and to protect the integrity of our election system.
Why are elections important to clean energy? We’ll let Bill McKibben, environmental writer, activist and founder of 350.org explain that one:
Before we can get reasonable climate change policy, we have to lessen the power of the fossil fuel companies to influence politicians through mechanisms such as Citizens United.” – Bill McKibben
There will be a panel and a public comment section. Each participant will get two minutes to speak.
