About Us
The mission of Clean Energy Action is to:
- Accelerate the transition from a fossil fuel based economy to one based on clean energy and energy efficient technologie; focus on the electric generation industry
- Work to reduce Colorado's carbon emissions by stopping construction of Xcel Energy's proposed new Pueblo coal plant and retiring existing coal plants in the state
- Raise awareness about global climate change and other problems related to the use of fossil fuels, particularly coal
- Promote clean energy and energy efficient alternatives to fossil fuels

Boulder's 20-year Franchise Agreement with Xcel expires this year! On August, 3rd, City Council will be deciding whether to put a new 20-year franchise agreement on the November ballot or to pursue an independent clean energy future. This is a critical juncture -- Join us at 6pm on Aug. 3rd at the City Council Chambers and make your voice heard.
