Biomimicry is the science of learning how nature performs a function and mimicking this sustainable design to perform human functions. It is an interdisciplinary approach that melds nature and technology; biology and innovation; life and design. In Boulder County, protected natural ecosystems are a valuable part of this natural laboratory of innovation. Join Certified Biomimicry Professional, Marie Zanowick-Bourgeois, for a fascinating look at how we can see local landscapes as more than places to recreate, but also as a sources of new and sustainable ideas! Learn about discussions between Boulder OSMP and EPA to access these innovations through a “Genius of Place Report.”

Presenter Bio

Marie Zanowick-Bourgeois is a creative environmental engineer with 25 years of experience working for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. She serves as an EPA international expert to provide regulatory and sustainability assistance to developing countries and uses biomimicry as the method of choice in solving environmental challenges.
